UPDATE: Embassy shares info on Trump’s Afrikaner asylum offer

The US Embassy to South Africa shared an important update to President Donald Trump’s executive order granting asylum to Afrikaners.

Last week, the controversial stateman urged “persecute” white South Africans to begin the process of seeking refugee status under his administration.

In a tweet on Tuesday, 11 March, the US Embassy posted an update on the US Refugee Admissions for Afrikaners.

It tweeted: “Under E.O [Executive Order] 14204, the US is considering refugee resettlement for disfavored ethnic minority Afrikaners facing unjust racial discrimination in South Africa”.

Eligibility will be determined by the US Department of State, Department of Homeland Security, and implementing partners who will “promote and prioritise humanitarian relief to white South Africans.”

The Embassy warned the public to beware of scams or potential exploitation.

“Access to the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program is free. No one should pay any fees or favors in return for access to the program or to unauthorized individuals claiming to be able to assist or expedite your resettlement case”.

Interested parties are encouraged to contact the Embassy and monitor their social media channels for updates.

TRUMP: ‘SOUTH AFRICA IS TERRIBLE’

In a post on his Truth Social platform last week, US President Donald Trump doubled down on his attack on South Africa. He also urged Afrikaners to begin the process of seeking asylum in America.

He posted: “South Africa is being terrible, plus, to long time Farmers in the country. They are confiscating their LAND and FARMS, and MUCH WORSE THAN THAT. A bad place to be right now, and we are stopping all Federal Funding”.

Trump continued: “To go a step further, any Farmer (with family!) from South Africa, seeking to flee that country for reasons of safety, will be invited into the United States of America with a rapid pathway to Citizenship. This process will begin immediately!”
