Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso will have his first experience of facing Kaizer Chiefs.
MIGUEL CARDOSO ON NASREDDINE NABI
According to Cardoso, Nabi will probably make a few changes but will otherwise stick to his style and coaching philosophy instead of deep defending. “He [Nabi] will not change anything on his general approach to the game. He can adapt to certain principles like we can,” Cardoso said via Sowetan.
“He is not coaching for the first time, and he knows what he is doing. He wants to develop his team, that’s what he wants. This game also has a different context, they highlight the best of the teams and the best of the players. That’s why there is always excitement but most of the time, these kinds of games are not the best ones.”
NASREDDINE NABI ON SUNDOWNS
Ahead of today’s battle at Lucas Moripe from 15:30, Amakhosi’s mentor Nabi has said he has prepared some ideas to beat Sundowns.
“I fancy our chances against this team who’s maybe in the top two in Africa,” said the Tunisian coach via Sowetan. “I love this challenge. I don’t go like a small team…I trust my players, my staff and myself. We’ve prepared some ideas [to beat Sundowns]
“I want a good result. I promise you this game won’t be like our previous two games against Sundowns … it’ll be a very different game. “I think the first game, honestly, was a 0-0 game … you remember that game [that ended 2-1]. The second game [that they lost 4-0], we had played two days earlier in Bloemfontein or Polokwane and the team came every, very tired in Joburg and it was an off day physically, mentally and tactically,” the Kaizer Chiefs trainer concluded.
