Prince Harry remains ‘distant’ from King Charles despite London trip to fight for family’s safety

Prince Harry still remains “distant” from his father, King Charles III, despite his recent trip to London to fight for his family’s safety.

“I don’t think there is any rapprochement,” a source close to Buckingham Palace told People. “Nothing has changed.”  

Another insider told the magazine that the Duke of Sussex and the monarch “are distant.”

Page Six has reached out to Harry’s rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Last week, the “Spare” author’s attorney told judges at London’s Royal Courts of Justice that his client was treated unfairly when he was stripped of his British security detail in 2020 after he and his wife, Meghan Markle, quit their royal duties and moved to North America.

After a two-day hearing, Harry, 40, spoke to reporters about the exhausting legal battle.

“[My] worst fears have been confirmed by the whole legal disclosure in this case — and that’s really sad,” he told People moments after leaving court last Wednesday.

The Invictus Games founder added that he felt “exhausted and overwhelmed” after spending two full days in court.

Harry has been estranged from Charles, 76, and his brother, Prince William, since he left his royal duties.

Things got worse between the relatives when Harry and Markle, 43, accused the royal family of racism and released a Netflix series about their issues.

Then, in January 2023, Harry dropped his bombshell memoir, “Spare,” in which he alleged that William, 42, physically attacked him over the “Suits” alum.

Last year, Page Six exclusively reported that the only way Harry would reconcile with his family is if his UK security detail was reinstated.

“King Charles can give Harry the security clearance he wants so desperately. As the monarch, he is the ultimate decision maker. That would be how father and son can reconcile,” said one royal source.

However, Charles, who is currently battling cancer, reportedly stopped answering Harry’s calls — to the point of “complete silence” between the two.

“He gets ‘unavailable right now,’” a friend of the Netflix star told People last summer. “His calls go unanswered. He has tried to reach out about the King’s health, but those calls go unanswered, too.”

Harry has been concerned for the safety of the Duchess of Sussex and their kids, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, when they travel across the pond.

“Harry is frightened and feels the only person who can do anything about it is his father,” a royal insider told the magazine, while another source close to the situation said, “Harry is determined to protect his own family at all costs.”
