April 21, 2025. FAYETTEVILLE, GA. Fayette Senior Services, Inc. (FSS), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, would like to recognize their Tool Team for their quick response and excellent job on a recent project! Fayette Senior Services’ tool team is a group of volunteers who FSS connects with in-need clients to do minor home safety maintenance tasks and repairs around their homes for homebound seniors. This group of volunteers is always up for any challenge FSS presents them with. A client reached out to FSS’ Care Management team, requesting assistance for a dangerous situation she was in. Her wooden staircase at the front entrance of her home was rotting, putting her at risk of falling through the steps, and her handrails were unsteady, bringing concern to the client that she would risk falling over the sides. She was nervous to use the front steps due to this, limiting her access in and out of her home! FSS quickly jumped into action. “It certainly takes a village,” expressed Care Coordinator Morah Palmer, “We have a strong team in place to recognize needs and provide assistance to clients we serve at Fayette Senior Services!” Our Case Management team reached out to the Tool Team and they quickly stepped in to rebuild her stairs and stabilize her railings. She was beyond grateful for the generosity of people and shared how much it moved her to have others care enough to lend a helping hand. “It’s so beautiful! Now I feel more comfortable walking in and out of my house. It will be a lot safer for me to carry in groceries and such, too, since I won’t have to worry about falling!”
