DPR’s New Chief Information Officer Doubles Down on Artificial Intelligence

California-based contractor and construction management firm DPR Construction has named Jarret Eubanks as its new chief information officer. The company says Eubanks, who has nearly 25 years of information technology experience across various Fortune 500 companies, began his transition into the role last year from his previous position at data center giant Equinix.

Focusing on digital transformation and leveraging emerging technology, Eubanks will work out of the firm’s Dallas office and will help harness the company’s tech and data information initiatives to generate business. DPR says Eubanks will also help shore up the company’s defenses against cybersecurity threats while managing and meeting regulatory compliance requirements.

“It’s an exciting time to join the construction industry as [AI] is dramatically changing how projects are planned and delivered,” says Eubanks. “There are so many opportunities to continue to advance technology, driving value for customers and employees, especially in ways that can increase efficiency of project delivery through advancements such as autonomous labor scheduling and contractual risk identification.”

DPR, headquartered in Redwood City, Calif., ranked No. 7 on ENR’s 2024 Top 400 Contractors list with over $9.4 billion in revenue.

Eubanks came to DPR as the firm has been “piloting many potential solutions” in emerging tech solutions, he says. In a market conditions report last year, the firm said it was “curious, yet cautious” about integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning into operations.

“We are particularly excited about ways AI can support recruiting and workforce planning, especially in light of the ongoing labor shortage,” says Eubanks. “There are agentic AI solutions that could help us take big steps toward eliminating jobsite incidents and [improve work] in the office.”

He adds, “We believe that agentic AI and other advancements in digital capabilities are going to dramatically improve our ways of working, allowing our teams to spend more time on strategic priorities and less on routine and repetitive tasks.”
