Mamelodi Sundowns have once again etched their name into South African football history by clinching their eighth consecutive Betway Premiership title.
The Pretoria-based club, affectionately known as “Masandawana,” wrapped up their latest title with a 3-0 win over Chippa United at the Buffalo City Municipality Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Iqraam Rayners opened the scoring in the 11th minute, before Arthur Sales added a second in the 69 minute and then completed his brace in the 89th minute.
Mamelodi Sundowns entered the match only requiring a single point to be crowned champions.
The win stretched their lead over closest rivals Orlando Pirates to 15 points – a gap the Buccaneers cannot close in their four remaining matches.
Masandawana will wrap up their league commitments with a home match against Magesi FC on Sunday, 18 May at 17:30.
CAF Champions League final
