Johnstone has kept six clean sheets in 20 Premier League appearances for Crystal Palace this season

Crystal Palace and England goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has been ruled out for the rest of the Premier League season and is also set to miss Euro 2024 this summer after having elbow surgery.

The 31-year-old was sent to see a specialist after withdrawing from the England squad on Sunday.

He has won four England caps and was expected to be Jordan Pickford’s understudy in Germany.

Johnstone has made 23 appearances for Palace this season.

Palace are 14th in the Premier League and face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday (15:00 GMT).
