Safest Cars for 2025

Choose one of these new cars to stay safe in a crash—or better avoid a crash in the first place.

As safety standards become tougher for 2025, our list of the year’s safest cars is shorter than before—but there are still plenty of choices that assure you’re choosing a safe and modern car. Automakers keep making safer vehicles in response to tightening Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) standards, and it’s a cycle of improvement we’re glad to see.

In this list of the safest cars for 2025, we highlight cars that earn a 2025 Top Safety Pick+ or Top Safety Pick status from IIHS, as well as those that have been tested by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and receive a five-star overall score.

Keep reading to see the safest cars for 2025, which span family sedans, efficient hybrids, luxury cruisers, EVs, and sporty hatchbacks.

2025 Acura Integra Safety Ratings and Features

Like the Honda Civic on which it’s based, the Acura Integra makes the list of the safest cars for 2025. This compact hatchback earned Top Safety Pick status from IIHS, and a five-star overall crash safety rating from NHTSA.

Thanks to the standard AcuraWatch suite of driver assist and active safety features, the 2025 Integra comes equipped with front and rear automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure prevention, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beams.

2025 Acura Integra Pros and Cons

Although it’s not exactly a revival of the vaunted original Integra, the model on sale now is an appreciably premium and practical small car. It’s close—perhaps too close—to the excellent Honda Civic with which it shares key attributes, but the Integra benefits from that similarity, as well. It’s built to a high standard of quality, has many useful safety features, is a compelling value, and is quite nice to drive—especially the awesome Integra Type S version. Our practical side says to get aCivic Hatchback instead and save some money, but we couldn’t fault anyone for still choosing the Integra for its upscale appeal.

2025 Honda Accord Safety Ratings and Features

As it has for many consecutive years, the Honda Accord achieves IIHS Top Safety Pick+ status. Both the standard and hybrid versions are distinguished as earning a five-star overall NHTSA score, as well.

As part of the standard Honda Sensing driver assist and active safety features, all versions of the 2025 Accord include front automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control including a traffic jam assist, and road sign recognition. Higher-end models gain blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors.

2025 Honda Accord Pros and Cons

The Honda Accord is as solid a choice as ever, but the sedan doesn’t exactly move the needle. Sure, it still delivers on its main appeals: It’s value-filled, safe, and, in hybrid versions, terrifically fuel-efficient. Not to mention, it drives in an enjoyably connected way. We just wish Honda had been more bold in how it evolved the model on sale now from the previous generation; there’s not a substantial difference between them.

2025 Honda Civic Safety Ratings and Features

Even Honda’s smallest and least expensive car—the legendary Civic—comes with plenty of safety features. Front automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beams are among them.

Additionally, all versions of the 2025 Civic Hatchback (except the not-rated Type R version) receive a five-star overall safety score from NHTSA. However, in IIHS testing only the Civic hatchback earned Top Safety Pick+, while the sedan version received Top Safety Pick status.

2025 Honda Civic Pros and Cons

Is the humble Honda Civic one of the best cars on sale? That’s not to say it’s exotic, luxurious, or even particularly special, but how it functions as a car is just so good. The Civic offers something for every driver. It looks attractive yet understated, with a cabin that’s functional and stylish. Those who want an uncomplicated way to get around will find it in the Civic, yet driving enthusiasts won’t be bored, either—especially in the zippy Civic Siorstupendous Type R. The recently added hybrid powertrain is excellent. We’d probably choose the Civic Hatchback.

2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6 Safety Ratings and Features

For 2025, the Ioniq 6 receives IIHS Top Safety Pick+ and NHTSA five-star overall ratings. Hyundai’s electric car includes safety tech such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, side and rear cross-traffic alert, front automatic emergency braking, and automatic high-beams. High-end models add blind-spot view cameras and intersection collision avoidance.

2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6 Pros and Cons

Given its similarities to the Ioniq 5 SUV, it’s no surprise the Hyundai Ioniq 6 sedan is an excellent EV. It can recharge very quickly and offers about 300 miles of driving range depending on configuration. Even compared to the Tesla Model 3—which doesn’t qualify as one of the safest cars for 2025—the Ioniq 6 is more comfortable, has longer range, charges faster, and is great to drive. Instead of an Ioniq 6, we would get an Ioniq 5 for its better looks, nicer interior, and extra space.

2025 Mazda 3 Safety Ratings and Features

Whether it’s built as a sedan or hatchback, the 2025 Mazda 3 earns the best safety scores from IIHS and NHTSA. On all models, standard safety features include front automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic high-beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear occupant reminder, and adaptive cruise control.

2025 Mazda 3 Pros and Cons

Introduced for 2019, this generation of Mazda 3 isn’t the newest option in the compact car segment—but it remains one of the safest and most enjoyable to drive. From behind the wheel, the Mazda 3 moves with cohesive poise. We appreciate the option for a manual transmission but think a hybrid powertrain would do more for the Mazda. The exterior and interior look suitable for a more expensive car, but the cabin isn’t very spacious or quiet. Nor is Mazda’s infotainment system as good as those in newer rivals. Rather than outright practicality, the Mazda 3 appeals to those who appreciate refined driving manners and upscale design.

2025 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Safety Ratings and Features

For 2025, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class gains a center airbag between the front seats and maintains IIHS Top Safety Pick+ designation, but it hasn’t been tested by NHTSA. Other standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beams, and parking sensors. Like some other luxury automakers, Mercedes-Benz charges extra for desirable features such as lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control.

2025 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Pros and Cons

As ever, the C-Class provides a version of the Mercedes-Benz experience at a relatively attainable price. It has many of the design cues, tech features, and interior luxuries as its more expensive counterparts, although some interior materials feel a bit cut-rate. In its standard form, the C-Class prioritizes comfort over athleticism; it isn’t particularly fun to drive. The AMG versions are much quicker, yet their four-cylinder engines aren’t so inspiring. Regardless, the C-Class feels like a proper Mercedes-Benz.

2025 Toyota Camry Safety Ratings and Features

The super-popular Toyota Camry was fully redesigned for 2025, and it earns IIHS Top Safety Pick+ status this year. However, it has not yet been assessed by NHTSA as this is written. As part of the standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite, the new Camry has front automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, road sign recognition, and automatic high-beams. Additionally, the Proactive Driving Assist feature provides subtle braking and steering inputs in reaction to surrounding traffic. Higher-end 2025 Camry models gain front and rear cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, and a low-speed hands-free driving assistant for traffic jams.

2025 Toyota Camry Pros and Cons

Toyota gave the Camry quite a shake-up for its 2025 redesign, equipping it with a slightly bolder exterior, tech-filled interior, relatively fun driving manners, and a standard hybrid powertrain. Still, the new Camry has all the core competencies that made its previous generations so popular. It’s still a straightforward, dependable, and affordable mainstream sedan. This might be the best Camry ever, but the changes aren’t so major as to dissuade anyone who just wants a normal, fuel-efficient, safe car from choosing it.

What Are the Safest Cars for 2024? Top-Rated Sedans and Hatchbacks Across the Market

Today’s vehicles are safer than ever, but some models are safer than their peers. Find out which cars have excelled in safety testing from IIHS and NHTSA.

As cars offer increasingly advanced safety features, you’d think safety would be a given in today’s automotive landscape. Even as automakers meet increasingly stringent safety standards, however, it’s clear that not every new car protects its occupants as well as the industry’s best.

In our list of the safest cars for 2024, we recognize models that have earned a 2024 Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ Award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). If rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), these vehicles earn an overall five-star score.

Here are the safest cars you can buy for 2024 and our overall impressions of each.

2024 Acura Integra: Safety Ratings and Features

Just like it did last year, the Integra once again clinched a Top Safety Pick+ Award, the highest honor given by IIHS. The small luxury sedan also received an overall five stars from NHTSA, a score that includes five stars in each individual test. Type S models have not been fully rated by NHTSA but earned five stars in the rollover evaluation.

Standard safety features on the 2024 Integra are abundant. Adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and automatic high-beams are included, as is blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Front and rear parking sensors arrive on higher trims.

2024 Acura Integra: Pros and Cons

Some will argue the Integra is too similar to its mechanical twin, the Honda Civic. Indeed, the Acura’s interior is merely a more refined version of what you’ll find in the Civic, and the luxury car is just as loud on the freeway as its mainstream counterpart. Still, the Acura presents a compelling option for entry-level luxury, offering a good balance of affordability, feature content, and fuel efficiency. It’s not particularly sporty in its standard form, but that changes when you upgrade to the Type S.

2024 Hyundai Elantra: Safety Ratings and Features

After a major update for 2024, the Elantra remains a safe car. Named a Top Safety Pick, the second highest award offered by IIHS, the 2024 Elantra gets Good scores in all crash tests except for the updated moderate overlap front test, in which it received a Marginal score. Good headlights add to its safety cred. The sedan hasn’t been fully rated by NHTSA, but it did earn four stars in the front crash test and five stars in the rollover evaluation.

Lane keep assist, driver attention warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and high-beam assist are standard, as is blind-spot and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist. Available features include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, a semi-autonomous highway driving feature, a 360-degree camera, and parking sensors.

2024 Hyundai Elantra: Pros and Cons

The Elantra serves as a good reminder that there’s more to the compact sedan segment than the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. Boasting a comfortable ride, relaxing interior, and exciting N variant, the Elantra is one of our favorite cars in its category, although it’s not quite as compelling overall as the Civic. The Elantra Hybrid boasts impressive fuel economy, but the hybrid version of the Toyota Corolla is more affordable.

2024 Mazda 3: Safety Ratings and Features

In both sedan and hatchback form, the Mazda 3 is a Top Safety Pick+. Depending on trim, headlights are rated Good or Acceptable. Mazda includes more standard safety features this year, namely blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Every Mazda 3 also includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and driver attention alert. Higher up the trim walk, Mazda offers rear automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.

2024 Mazda 3: Pros and Cons

Although it’s not the segment leader it once was, the Mazda 3 has successfully repositioned itself as a premium offering. The 3 is particularly refined with the optional turbo engine, offering lower powertrain NVH levels than on some entry-level luxury cars. We appreciate its upscale interior, but we wish the back seat was more spacious.

2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class: Safety Ratings and Features

Mercedes adds new safety fare to the C-Class compact sedan this year, with parking sensors and autonomous parking assist joining the list of standard features. That list also includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot assist, driver attention warning, and adaptive high-beams. Many other safety features require extra cash, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane change assist, and active brake assist with turning and cross-traffic function.

Not having been rated in the IIHS updated moderate front overlap test, the C-Class secures the second highest distinction of Top Safety Pick. Headlights are Good or Acceptable depending on configuration.

2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class: Pros and Cons

The latest C-Class presents a blend of hits and misses. In many ways, Mercedes achieves the miniature S-Class mission with a premium design, spacious back seat, and the high-speed stability expected of a German luxury sedan. That said, the brake pedal fails to inspire confidence with its squishy feel. And although the interior looks upscale, some materials are lower quality than you might expect. If you’re looking for athleticism, know that the C-Class isn’t nearly as fun to drive as some rivals.

2024 Subaru Impreza: Safety Ratings and Features

Subaru may have trimmed down its Impreza offerings this year, but it didn’t scrimp on safety. The compact car, now available only as a hatchback, snagged an IIHS Top Safety Pick award. It hasn’t been rated in the updated moderate overlap front test, but it otherwise earned Good crash test scores and a Good rating for headlights. It even nabbed the highest score in the LATCH test, which assesses the user-friendliness of child restraint hardware. The Impreza made an impressive showing with NHTSA, too, earning a five-star overall score and five stars in each category.

High-beam assist is standard along with Subaru’s EyeSight suite, which includes adaptive cruise control with lane centering, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure and sway warning. In our tests, this system works well in the Impreza but beeps warnings too often. Blind-spot detection, lane change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert are optional on the middle trim and standard on the top trim.

2024 Subaru Impreza: Pros and Cons

Entering its sixth generation for 2024, the Impreza lineup is noticeably smaller now without the manual transmission option or sedan body style. But it does get a new RS variant with more power. This model is fun to drive on canyon roads yet reasonably quiet and well-mannered in everyday commuting on the highway or in stop-and-go traffic. Still, FWD rivals are more efficient, more athletic, and have more cargo space. Although the front seats are comfortable, the interior gives off budget-car vibes.

2024 Toyota Prius and Prius Prime: Safety Ratings and Features

Our 2024 Car of the Year is one of the safest cars you can buy. The 2024 Toyota Prius earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award, despite Acceptable scores in the updated moderate front overlap test and in the headlight evaluation. Families with young kids will be happy to know the Prius gets top marks in the LATCH evaluation. Unlike the standard Prius, the plug-in hybrid version of the Prius hasn’t been rated in the updated moderate front overlap test and receives the agency’s second highest distinction, Top Safety Pick.

No matter which version you choose, Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 comes standard. This suite includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, road sign assist, and automatic high-beams. Blind-spot monitoring with rear-cross traffic alert is also standard. Prius Prime models get standard lane change assist, while parking sensors and a 360-degree camera are available on the Prius lineup.

2024 Toyota Prius and Prius Prime: Pros and Cons

Finally, Toyota offers a Prius that’s stylish and genuinely enjoyable to drive. Redesigned for the 2023 model year, the Prius offers more power, a composed ride, and responsive steering. Open the doors, and you’ll find a mostly functional interior design, although the instrument cluster can be difficult to see, and rear headroom is limited. If you don’t need AWD, the Prius Prime is an even better car, benefiting from quicker acceleration and a solid 44 miles of EV range.

2024 Honda Accord: Safety Ratings and Features

For the fourth consecutive year, the Honda Accord achieves Top Safety Pick+ status. Not only did this year’s midsize sedan earn Good crash test ratings in all categories, but it also received a Good headlight rating and top marks in the LATCH ease of use test. Standard features on the 2024 Accord include lane keep assist, traffic jam assist, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane departure warning, and auto high-beams. Blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert is standard on all versions except the base model. Parking sensors are available.

2024 Honda Accord: Pros and Cons

The Accord is still a top choice in the midsize sedan segment, although the new 11th generation model doesn’t innovate much over its predecessor. It drives well with natural steering, good body control, and a responsive gas engine. The cabin is properly spacious. Higher-trim models lose some ride comfort as a trade-off for larger wheels, though, and rivals have less road noise. Honda reserves the best features for the hybrid model, but the brake pedal on this variant offers little feedback.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6: Safety Ratings and Features

No matter whether you love or hate the design, the Ioniq 6 is one of the safest cars for 2024. This Top Safety Pick+ winner scored an Acceptable rating in the updated moderate overlap front test and Good scores in all other crash categories. Headlights were deemed Acceptable.

Brace yourself for all the standard safety features: adaptive cruise control, high-beam assist, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, front and rear parking sensors, speed limit assist, drier attention warning, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection. Highway Driving Assist II, a semi-autonomous driving system that combines stop-and-go adaptive cruise control and lane keeping, is available. This feature performed well in our Ioniq 6 Limited tester, successfully keeping the vehicle in its intended lane. A 360-degree camera is also standard on higher trims.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6: Pros and Cons

Refinement is a strong suit of this stylish four-door. On the highway, the Ioniq 6 is composed and whisper quiet. Generous rear legroom is a pleasant surprise, although the cabin feels a little drab on lower trims. EPA range maxes out at an impressive 361 miles, surpassing its biggest rival, the Tesla Model 3. In fact, the Ioniq 6 won a comparison test against the Model 3 Highland in part because of its superior real-world range and balanced driving dynamics.

2024 Toyota Camry: Safety Ratings and Features

While the Accord snagged the top award from IIHS, its archrival gets a still-impressive Top Safety Pick designation. The 2024 Camry racked up Good scores in all crash categories other than the updated moderate front overlap test, in which it scored Marginal. Headlights are rated Good or Acceptable, depending on trim, and the Camry earned top marks in the child seat ease of use test.

Safety Sense 2.5+ comes standard on all models, bringing along automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beams, and road sign assist. Optional features include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and front and rear park assist with automatic braking.

2024 Toyota Camry: Pros and Cons

Toyota accommodates different customers with three powertrains and a wide array of trim levels. We’d opt for the hybrid version, which benefits from smooth power delivery and up to 51/53 mpg city/highway. That’s in addition to 686 miles on a tank in LE form. However, the 2024 Camry isn’t particularly engaging to drive, too much road noise enters the cabin, and the interior looks outdated.

We look forward to seeing if the next-generation 2025 Camry will be gamechanger.

2024 BMW 5 Series: Safety Ratings and Features

The new 5 Series gets a clean report card from IIHS, boasting Good scores in each category tested. Because it didn’t take the updated moderate overlap front test, though, it only qualifies for a Top Safety Pick. On the standard features roster, buyers get front collision mitigation, active blind-spot detection, lane departure warning, parking sensors, and a parking assistant.

For more coin, buyers can opt for a hands-free highway driving assistant. The driver can execute a lane change simply by looking out the window, a feature we found surprisingly effective during our first drive with the 5 Series.

2024 BMW 5 Series: Pros and Cons

Redesigned for 2024, the new 5 Series reclaims some of its trademark athleticism and driver-centric focus. Even the entry-level model is engaging to drive and has plenty of power for passing. Despite that, this 5 Series is still geared toward comfortable cruising. Enthusiasts won’t appreciate its too-light steering feel. Unlike some other BMWs we’ve tested, the optional M Sport suspension delivers a smooth ride, absorbing road imperfections like you’d expect of a luxury sedan. BMW has also improved creature comforts inside the cabin with an infotainment system that’s easier to use.

2024 Genesis G80 and G80 Electric: Safety Ratings and Features

Several Genesis vehicles have earned a 2024 IIHS award, and one of them is the G80 midsize sedan. It’s the electric variant that snags the agency’s top “+” award, while the gas-powered G80 gets the standard Top Safety Pick designation. Headlights are rated Acceptable regardless of the powertrain. Adaptive cruise control, high-beam assist, speed limit assist, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, driver attention warning, and blind-spot and rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist are standard. Certain models have Highway Driving Assist II.

2024 Genesis G80 and G80 Electric: Pros and Cons

The Genesis G80 stands out with its eye-catching exterior, decadent interior, and strong feature-per-dollar value proposition, yet it falls short of European rivals in driving dynamics and powertrain refinement. Despite its appealing features, the G80 doesn’t quite elevate Genesis’ status as much as other models in the lineup such as the G70 and G90. The electric G80 is smoother, quieter, and quicker than the gas model, but interior space is compromised to accommodate the underfloor battery pack.

2024 Genesis G90: Safety Ratings and Features

Our top pick among full-size luxury sedans, the Genesis G90 is one of the safest cars on the market. The large luxury cruiser snagged a Top Safety Pick award with Good crash test scores and Acceptable headlights.

One safety feature we really enjoy is the standard Highway Driving Assist II system. Like in the G80, this system reduces the driver’s burden in long drives, although the attention tracking feature can sometimes mistake a simple glance in the side mirror for a distraction. Other standard safety features include lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance assist, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, high-beam assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, and a 360-degree camera. Additionally, the G90 comes standard with forward, side, and reverse parking sensors, as well as a parking assist.

2024 Genesis G90: Pros and Cons

We can’t hide our enthusiasm for the G90. Its sumptuous interior, well-executed driver assist features, and plush ride helped this luxury sedan win our 2023 Car of the Year award. For all its luxurious features, it’s a fantastic features-per-dollar value, with pricing that undercuts German rivals by a significant margin. We even declared, “It pampers like a Maybach for less than half the money.” One of our few criticisms is that fuel economy could be better.

2024 Toyota Crown: Safety Ratings and Features

Sedan or crossover? Mainstream or premium? Whatever it is, the Toyota Crown gets strong safety ratings. This Top Safety Pick winner achieved Good scores in all the IIHS crash tests in which it was evaluated, although it hasn’t yet undergone the updated moderate overlap front test. Base models have Acceptable headlights, while higher trims get a Good rating in this category. NHTSA has not yet evaluated the Crown.

Automatic high-beams, road sign assist, full-speed adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure alert with steering assist are standard, as are blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. A 360-degree camera is available, as is parking assist with automatic braking. We’ve had a few qualms about the optional Advanced Tech package, which includes lane change assist and traffic jam assist. An eye-tracking monitor designed to ensure driver attentiveness doesn’t work well, issuing unwarranted alerts even when the driver is actively focused on the road.

2024 Toyota Crown: Pros and Cons

Just as we don’t know what to make of its looks, the Crown is also a mixed bag as an everyday driver. It stands out for its excellent fuel efficiency and advanced technology on larger screens. Vague steering and grabby brakes mar the experience on base-engine models. Although more powerful and equipped with more refined suspension, the Platinum model still isn’t sporty. Legroom and trunk space are surprisingly limited for a full-size car.

2024 Honda Odyssey: Safety Ratings and Features

A Top Safety Pick winner, the Honda Odyssey lives up to its reputation for safety. It gets Good scores in all crash tests except for the updated moderate overlap front test, in which it gets a Poor rating. Headlights are Acceptable. As a minivan, it’s unsurprising that the Odyssey scored the highest rating possible in the LATCH ease of use test. In NHTSA testing, the Odyssey nabbed a five-star overall score, with five stars in the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover evaluation.

Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic monitoring, and auto high-beams. Parking sensors come on higher trims.

2024 Honda Odyssey: Safety Ratings and Features

With a smooth ride and slick-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission, the Odyssey offers a comfortable driving experience. Convenience reigns inside the cabin. Handy features include a live camera feed of the rear seats on the infotainment screen, and an intercom system communicates with kids in the back. We appreciate the spacious interior with sliding second-row seats and easy access to the third row, although the Stow ‘n Go seats inside the Chrysler Pacifica are more practical.

2024 Toyota Sienna: Safety Ratings and Features

Not to be outdone by its Honda rival, the Toyota Sienna also snags a Top Safety Pick award with Good scores in all crash tests except the updated moderate overlap front test. Here, it gets a Marginal rating. However, the 2024 Sienna gets a Good score for headlights and top marks in the child seat ease of use test. A NHTSA five-star overall score consists of five stars in the side crash test, and four stars each in the front and rollover tests.

The Sienna comes with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, an older version of the automaker’s safety suite, but with plenty of features. These include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, full-speed adaptive cruise control, road sign assist, and automatic high-beams. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard, while front and rear park assist with automatic emergency braking is standard on XLE models and above. We appreciate all the safety features, but the lane keeping assist sent us wandering from side to side in the lane when we tested it with the adaptive cruise control system.

2024 Toyota Sienna: Pros and Cons

Toyota made a bold decision when it introduced the current-generation Sienna: hybrid or bust. This choice reaped rewards with its impressive fuel economy of up to 36/36 mpg city/highway. Helpful storage nooks and lounge-chair-like seats make the Sienna more appealing. But as a trade-off for efficiency and a super comfortable third row, the Sienna suffers from a noisy engine and numb brake pedal fee
