What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
What made me become a football player was because of my pops and my brother they both played football and I was the one stuck in between baseball and football and football was the dream I chose and it has been that ever since. Also football was the 1st sport my dad told me how to play so I was really familiar with football.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
The favorite moments I would say is when I was at Baylor and won the Big 12 and Sugar Bowl championship game those 2 moments were eye opening and a great experience and also 2019 year when I got to Baylor and scored my 1st touchdown as a freshman that moment was unforgettable just being thrown in the game and scoring my first play in.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
As a football player I’m looking to achieve my dreams which is playing at the highest level which is the NFL that has always been my dream and I always told my family I will be there one day and I will continue to showcase myself and always prove points.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?
Jalen Pitre, I chose this person because he leads by example and also at the highest level right now playing safety for the Texans, also he works hard and puts time into his craft.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My dad I would say because he’s done everything I’ve done as of now playing football, was a very hard worker and also cared about what he did and how he did it and that’s a person that I look up to and inspires me the most he’s a great leader.
What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
My favorite schemes are wide zone and mid zone. Wide you get to set everything up while the offensive line is making the wall for you always many places to cut it back on a defense. Mid zone because I am a powerful down hill runner and what I am most familiar with also.
What should we know about Qualan Jones the person?
What people should know is that I am a dedicated person, I do everything with a purpose, I am a very hard worker, I am a easy person to talk to, very vocal and I lead by example and I am reliable person!
What stands out about your film the most?
Physical, down hill, catch out of the backfield, pass protection, vision.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
I handle challenges when I see them. I am a type of person that likes new challenges that are thrown at me because I feel like that’s what makes me a stronger person and I always leave it up to God and pray about it and things always work out for me!
What would a team get in a player like you?
A leader, someone who is willing to work get in the extra and do whatever it takes to win, they will get a physical football player and a person that is passionate!
What do you love the most about the game of football?
The thing I love about football is stepping on the field and showcasing myself and my skills and competing against other people that’ll make me better. Also just the friendships you build with your teammates some you will never forget!
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
I would say Abram Smith, he was a great leader, very passionate in what he does, a hard worker and also a very physical player and a player that is versatile and that played both sides of the ball started on defense and played running back his last year at Baylor and got many accolades!
